In the spirit of making fun of ourselves to get a laugh and raise a few bucks at the same time, we decided to go forward with a tongue-in-cheek spin-off of the popular “Calendar Girls” movie. Thirteen of our male members volunteered to be models for this project. The final result was the “Calendar Boys of the Manning Rotary.”
This 2007 calendar, which has been available for purchase to the public since May, is being sold specifically to raise funds for Manning’s parks. The Rotary is not keeping any of the profits to build up a bank account – everything that is and will continue to be earned will in turn benefit our community.
Most of the press coverage is about the criticism directed at one of the models, the superintendent of the Manning school district. There's an order form in the Manning News.
